Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour

Gaya is one of the famous holy cities of Hindus as well as Buddhists in India. Gaya is situated at a distance of about 100 km from Patna, the capital city of Bihar, on the banks of Falgu river. The city derived its name from the demon Gayasur. According to the legend, Gayasur was killed by Lord Vishnu by pressing his foot over his body, which resulted in the formation of some rocky hills which surrounds Gaya.

There are a number of Ghats on the banks of Falgu river which are believed to be holy. It is believed by the Hindus that their visit to Gaya will result in salvation of the souls of their ancestors. There is a holy ritual, which is performed in Gaya by Hindus, which is known as 'Pinda Dan'. This is also one of the main reasons of Hindu visitors for planning a trip to Gaya.

Day 01 : Delhi

Our representative shall pick you up at the airport and help you check into a hotel. Overnight stay will be in hotel.

Day 02 : Delhi - Lucknow

Early morning, you will take a flight to Lucknow. After landing in Lucknow, you will be driven to Sravasti where you will check into a hotel. Later, you may explore the various places of tourist interest such as Anand Bodhi tree, ruins of the Jetavana monastery, age-old stupas etc. Return to the hotel to retire for night.

Day 03 : Sravasti - Lumbini

After having breakfast, you will be driven to Lumbini. Check into a hotel as soon as you reach Lumbini. You will be visiting the famous tourist spots of Lumbini such as temple of Maya Devi, Banyan tree where Buddha got enlightenment, etc. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 04 : Lumbini - Kushinagar

On this day, you will be driven to Kushinagar. Check into a hotel on reaching Kushinagar. It was in Kushinagar where Lord Buddha breathed his last. Here you will explore places like Ramabhar stupa (where Lord Budhha was buried), statue of Buddha etc. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05 : Kushinagar - Patna

In the morning, you will be driven to Patna via Vaishali. You will be exploring the city of Vaishali visiting places like Ashokan Pillar, Bawan Pokhar Temple, Budha Stupa-I, Buddha Stupa-II, Shanti Stupa etc. Check into a hotel as soon as you reach Patna. Overnight stay will be in hotel.

Day 06 : Patna - Bodhgaya

After having breakfast, you will be driven to Bodhgaya via Nalanda and Rajgir. There you will be exploring places like The Surya Mandir, the Nalanda Museum, Ajatashatru's Fort, Venuvana, etc. Check into a hotel on reaching Bodhgaya. Overnight stay will be in hotel.

Day 07 : Bodhgaya Sightseeing

Today, you will be seeing the various tourist spots of Bodhgaya such as Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhi Tree, Bodhi Sarovar, Chankamana etc. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 08 : Bodhgaya - Varanasi

This day, you will be driven to Varanasi. Check into a hotel as soon as you reach the city. Besides the holy ghats of River Ganges, you will visit the Vishwanath temple or Golden Temple (with 800 kg of gold plating on its towers), Benaras Hindu University, Tulsi Manas Temple, Durga temple Ram Nagar Fort & Museum and Bharat Mata Temple. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 09 : Varanasi - Sarnath

After having your breakfast, you will be going on an excursion to Sarnath, where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon. Overnight stay will be in Varanasi.

Day 10 : AVaranasi - Lucknow

Today, you will be driven to Lucknow. Check into a hotel as soon as you reach Lucknow. After that you will be exploring the various places in Lucknow such as Rumi Darwaza, Clock Tower, Bara Imambara, etc. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11 : Lucknow - Agra

Following breakfast, you will be driven to Agra via Sankasa, visiting the statue of the Buddha, Shiva Linga, etc. Check into a hotel as soon as you reach Agra. Later, you will be exploring the various tourist places of Agra such as Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Sikandra Fort, etc. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 12 : Agra - Delhi

On this day, you will be driven back to Delhi. Check into a hotel as soon as you reach the city and prepare for an overnight stay.

Day 13 : Departure from Delhi

In the morning, you will be visiting the various tourist spots of Delhi such as Red Fort, Akshardham temple, Lotus Temple, India Gate, etc. In the evening, you will be proceeding towards the airport, to take the flight for your onward destination.
